Description: Perennial herbs.
Leaves alternale, sessile and toothed.
Flower heads pedunculate, in terminal panicles. Involucral bracts varibale in length, caritaginous in 3–5 rows. Receptacle glabrous without scales. Marginal florets fertile, without rays, style bas not bulbous. Disc florets bisexual, functionally male, anters tailed.
Achenes lunate with a single longitudinal rib; carpopodium annular, white and prominent; pappus on the marginal florets with a persistent corona, on disc florets comprising 3–6 barbellate bristles.
Distribution and occurrence: A monotypic genus, endemic to Australia.
