Genus Hicksbeachia Family Proteaceae

Description: Small trees.

Leaves alternate, simple and pinnatisect to pinnate. Conflorescences generally ramiflorous, sometimes cauliflorous, raceme-like, pendent; flowers in pairs, ± sessile.

Flowers actinomorphic. Perianth tubular; tepals free and revolute at anthesis. Anthers free with filaments almost completely fused to tepals. Hypogynous glands 4, free. Ovary sessile, rusty-pubescent; style filiform, dilated into a ± ovoid pollen presenter.

Fruit indehiscent, drupe-like, grooved on one side, outer layer fleshy, containing a large seed.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W.
