Description: Prostrate or erect, branching perennial herbs with a thin rhizome bearing scale-like cataphylls; roots fibrous or with small tubers.
Leaves alternate, 2-ranked, with numerous longitudinal veins, sessile.
Flowers solitary or in umbel-like cymes, terminal or in upper leaf axils. Tepals free, equal, articulated at base. Stamens 6; filaments expanded at base. Ovary 3-locular; ovules in 2 rows per loculus; seeds few–many.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, Australia & New Guinea. Australia: 2 species (1 species endemic), Qld, N.S.W., Vic.
