Genus Schizeilema Family Apiaceae

Description: Perennial herbs with slender rhizome, glabrous.

Leaves in a basal rosette, circular-cordate or reniform, with 5–9 irregular, short ± crenate lobes; petiolate, stipulate.

Inflorescence a simple umbel; bracts fused at the base, lobed above. Flowers bisexual, pale yellow-green. Sepals ovate, very small. Petals oval, caducous. Stylopodium low-conical.

Fruit flattened dorsally, deeply constricted between the mericarps; carpophore absent; mericarps smooth, the ribs ± inconspicuous.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
