Description: Trees or shrubs, monoecious or polygamous.

Leaves finely toothed.

Inflorescence axillary, cymose, male, female and bisexual flowers mixed, male flowers predominating. Perianth 4- or 5-lobed. Style branches curled inwards, persistent.

Fruit a drupe.


Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 15 species, tropical & subtropical regions. Australia: 2 or 3 species, Qld, N.S.W., Vic., N.T., W.A., tropical & E coast.
