Description: Shrub mostly 0.5–2 m high (older plants to 4 m high), often suckering; bark grey-brown, fissured with age; branchlets terete, yellowish green, glabrous, with low rounded longitudinal ridges.
Phyllodes sessile, rigid, ± straight, ± terete to 4-angled in section with a yellow vein at each angle and a less prominent, obscure or incomplete vein between, 2–4.5 cm long, 1–1.2 (-1.5) mm wide, gradually tapered towards apex, abruptly broadened and longitudinally splayed at base for 2–6 mm (leaving an ovate to obovate scar on branchlet when lost); apex pungent-pointed with the fine orange-brown tip 1.5–3.5 mm long; 1 small ± circular gland near base, often a second minute gland in middle third.
Peduncles 5–21 mm long, glabrous; heads globose, 17–25-flowered, 5–7 mm diam.
Pods and seed not known.
Flowering: May–July.
Distribution and occurrence: recorded from the Inverell area; rare. Grows in eucalypt woodland-pasture area, on a hill crest and upper slope.
