Description: Low spreading shrub 0.3–3 m high.
Leaves 3–10 cm long, with 3–11 primary lobes, lower of these usually with 3–7 secondary lobes, often some again 3-lobed, ultimate lobes pungent, lanceolate to ± triangular, 3–28 mm long, 2–10 mm wide; lower surface tomentose.
Inflorescences 0–3-branched, 2.5–5 cm long, unit conflorescences cylindrical. Perianth cream to pale yellow, pubescent outside, glabrous inside. Gynoecium 4–5.5 mm long; ovary densely hairy; style cream to pale yellow, loosely villous, sharply bent near apex, pollen presenter erect to oblique.
Follicle hairy with reddish brown stripes or blotches.
Flowering: mainly spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry sclerophyll woodland on various acidic substrates, south from Glen Innes and Inverell districts.
