Description: Non-rhizomatous, annual or short-lived perennial herb or subshrub to 1.5 m high, erect, sprawling or prostrate. Tap-root usually moderately to well developed.

Leaves undivided to dissected, ovate in outline, 5–15 X 2–10 cm, segments linear and entire to 6 mm wide and dissected.

Peduncles glabrous or occasionally with short, coarse hairs. Inflorescence of 1–20 heads; heads radiate, campanulate, 4–6 mm long; bracts 12–21, bracteoles present; ray florets 5–14, yellow, ligules 5–12 mm long; disc florets 40–80, yellow.

Achenes 2.0–4.5 mm long, olive-brown, brown or golden, pubescent or glabrous; pappus 5 mm long, deciduous, of slender hairs.

Flowering: Sep to Jan

Distribution and occurrence: Occurs in NSW mainly within 400 km of the coast. Mainly in drier environments, including dry hills and coastal dunes, forest, woodland and scrubland. Extends into southeastern Queensland and eastern Victoria. Also found in Western Australia, Tasmania, and in the southeast of South Australia.
NSW subdivisions: NC, CC, SC, NT, CT, ST, NWS, CWS, SWS, NWP, NFWP
Other Australian states: Qld Vic. Tas. S.A. W.A.
