Description: Plant erect or spreading, glabrous, external runners absent.

Leaves terete, 2–8 cm long, 0.5–2.3 mm diam., apex acute or the thicker ones rounded.

Inflorescence a pedunculate umbel of triads, central flower sessile, laterals pedicellate; peduncle 5–26 mm long; rays of umbel 2, rarely 3, 3–13 mm long; pedicels 4–10 mm long; bracts 1.5–2 mm long. Corolla 18–26 mm long, 4- or 5-merous, clavate, red.

Fruit globose, 8–10 mm diam., white or pink.

Flowering: mainly December–May.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest and woodland, usually on Acacia but occasionally on other hosts such as Senna.
