Description: Spreading annual to 30 cm high, monoecious.

Leaves obovate, to 4 cm long, apex obtuse, margins sinuate to toothed; petiolate.

Flowers in axillary clusters. Fruiting bracteoles with a thickened stipe-like base and a flattened fan-like apex, 6–10 mm long; appendages absent.
