Description: Erect annual to c. 40 cm high, monoecious.
Leaves obovate to broad-obovate, to 5 cm long, margins sinuate; petiolate.
Flowers in axillary clusters. Fruiting bracteoles subglobose, 3–4 mm long; appendages absent.
Distribution and occurrence: Usually grows in low-lying areas.
