Atriplex patula L. APNI*
Description: Erect annual to 1 m high, monoecious.
Leaves narrow-elliptic, to 7 cm long, apex acute, margins entire; petiolate.
Inflorescence spike-like with the flowers clustered tightly at the nodes. Fruiting bracteoles unequally rhombic, to 10 mm long, entire or with small marginal teeth.
Distribution and occurrence: Widespread in N Hemi. but an uncommon introduction in N.S.W.
