Description: Decumbent herb with stems to 40 cm long.

Leaves basal and on lower part of flowering stems, linear to terete, 2–5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide.

Sepals 0.5–0.8 mm long. Petals to 1.5 mm long, pink. Stamens 4 or 5.

Capsule obpyriform, 4–6 mm long, opening by a terminal pore; seeds 2, superposed, dark red-brown to black, colliculate to papillate near the hilum, upper seed ovoid, lower seed ± rhomboidal.


Flowering: July–October

Distribution and occurrence: Grows on red sand dunes.
