Convolvulus arvensis L. APNI*

Description: Perennial with trailing and twining branches, from creeping rootstock; stems terete, glabrous to sparsely hairy (rarely moderately hairy) and glabrescent.

Leaves fairly uniform in shape from base to tip of stem; lamina ovate to oblong, often triangular-oblong, 1.5–6 cm long, 0.5–3(–4) cm wide, apex acute to obtuse and finely mucronate, base hastate or sagittate, margins entire with no ascending lobes, glabrous or with scattered hairs; petiole 5–25 mm long.

Inflorescence 1–4-flowered, solitary (very rarely in pairs) in the leaf axils; peduncle terete, 4–65 mm long, with sparse crisped-appressed to weakly ascending hairs. Sepals glabrous or sparsely hairy. Corolla funnel-shaped, 15–25 mm long, 5–13 mm diam., white to pink.

Capsule globose, 4–7 mm long, 4–6 mm diam., glabrous; fruiting pedicels not conspicuously recurved. Seeds granular, 3–4 mm long, finely punctate with numerous small tubercles.
