Description: Tree to 20 m high; bark persistent to smaller branches, brown, subfibrous, branchlets more or less glaucous.
Juvenile leaves opposite, orbiculate, cordate, apiculate, strongly glaucous. Adult leaves disjunct or opposite, lanceolate or sometimes ovate-lanceolate, 7–17 cm long, 1.5–3.5 cm wide, strongly glauco us, dull, concolorous.
Umbellasters 3-flowered; peduncle terete or slightly flattened, 4–6 mm long; pedicels angular, 0–2 mm long. Buds ovoid or shortly fusiform, glaucous, 6–8 mm long, c. 4 mm diam., scar present; calyptra conical , slightly shorter than hypanthium.
Fruit cup-shaped or broadly conical, 3- or 4-locular, 5–7 mm long, 4–6 mm diam.; disc flat or slightly raised; valves prominently exserted.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll woodland on shallow relatively infertile soils; rare in N.S.W., only known from near Rylstone.
