Synonyms: Hymenolobus procumbens (L.) Schinz & Thell. APNI*

Description: Annual herb, procumbent to erect, 4–30 cm tall, slender, sparingly branched, glabrous.

Basal leabes ovate to lanceolate, pinnatifid or pinnatipartite, 1–2 cm long, petiolate; upper leaves linear, entire.

Flowering stem somewhat zigzagged; sepals 0.7–1 mm long; petals to 1 mm long, white. Stamens 4 or 6. Style short.

Fruit 3–6 mm long, 1.7–2.3 mm wide, ovate-oblong, apex truncate or slightly notched; valves convex-keeled, membranous, net-veined, the mid-vein prominent; pedicels 2–13 mm long, filiform, spreading. Seeds 3 to 10 per locule, 0.75 mm long, ovate.

Distribution and occurrence: Native to temperate Northern Hemisphere. Naturalised in all states except Qld and N. Terr. Also New Zealand, S. Amer. and southern Africa.
