Lampranthus tegens (F.Muell.) N.E.Br. APNI* 
Description: Spreading prostrate shrub rooting at the nodes.
Leaves 8–9 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, slightly incurved, glaucous, covered with small dots or glands, keeled.
Flowering pedicels c. 10 mm long. Perianth lobes ± triangular, 5–6 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, acute or obtuse, covered with glands, 2 or 3 lobes with narrow membranous margins. Staminodes c. 1 mm wide, outer ones sometimes broader, slightly longer than perianth, purple. Stamens with filaments flattened, 0.5–1 mm wide, c. 3 mm long with a zone of hairs c. midway along.
Distribution and occurrence: Native of S Afr.

Other Australian states: *Vic.
This species was described from Aust. though almost certainly originally from South Africa. Attempts to equate it with a known African species have not been successful.
