Lastreopsis nephrodioides (Baker) Tindale APNI*

Description: Terrestrial or epiphytic fern. Rhizome scarcely creeping, suberect at apex; rhizome and base of stipe densely covered with linear, ±hair-pointed, very dark brown scales 1–2 cm long, 1–2 mm broad at base.

Fronds 4-pinnate to 5-pinnatisect, erect, ±tufted; stipe 10–40 cm tall, with lower part bearing scales like those on rhizome; lamina 15–40 cm long, 20–50 cm broad; pinnules 1–4 cm long, 0.4–1.5 cm broad, crenate.

Sori medial to marginal, often on the tip of a short marginal projection; indusia reniform, 0.5–1 mm diam., glabrous
