Description: Erect shrub to 50 cm high, dioecious.
Leaves linear, fleshy, to 30 mm long, ± triangular in cross section, densely hairy.
Flowers solitary or paired, unisexual. Fruiting perianth to c. 10 mm diam., wing irregularly divided into 5 lobes, the lobes opposite the perianth lobes. Uncommon, usually on poor soils.
