Polygala myrtifolia L. APNI*

Description: Erect shrub, usually 1–2.5 m high, densely leaved; stems glabrous or with fine curled hairs.

Leaves usually elliptic to broad-elliptic, 10–50 mm long, 4–15 mm wide, apex obtuse, glabrous to sparsely hairy.

Racemes terminal, 1–5 cm long; pedicels c. 10 mm long. Flowers 10–20 mm long, purple to pale lilac. Outer sepals 4–5 mm long; wing sepals petaloid, 10–15 mm long. Keel much longer than lateral petals, crested with 2 much-branched appendages 4–6 mm long.

Capsule ± circular, 8–10 mm diam.
