Description: Sparsely pilose annual.
Flowering stems to 60 cm high.
Leaves (except the lowest) deeply 3-lobed or ternate or biternate with linear-lanceolate segments; petiole of lower leaves 1–10 cm long. Flowers 4–12 mm diam.
Achenes 6–8 mm long (excluding beak) with long slender spines to 3 mm long, beak tapering, almost straight and similar in appearance to the spines.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Naturalized in Glen Innes district and reported from Temora. Native of Eur., N Afr. & Asia.
