Ranunculus clivicola B.G.Briggs APNI*
Description: Perennial, sparsely or densely pilose with spreading hairs.
Flowering stems 15–42 cm high.
Leaves with lamina circular or triangular, 1–6.5 cm long and equally wide, pinnately divided into 3–5 segments which are further lobed and toothed; petiole 2.5–25 cm long. Flowers 18–35 mm diam. Petals 5–8, obovate with cuneate base, 8–14 mm long; nectary with an oblong lobe.
Achenes with smooth sides and a prominent marginal ridge; beak 1.8–3 mm long, straight or arching with a recurved tip.
Flowering: summer.
Distribution and occurrence: In subalpine sites of the Kosciusko plateau below long-lasting snow patches.
