Description: Prostrate, perennial herb; stems to 15 cm long, hispid, often forming dense mats and rooting at the nodes.
Leaves narrow-ovate to ovate, 0.5–2 cm long, 3–10 mm wide, apex acute to acuminate, lamina usually densely hispid and whitish; shortly petiolate or sessile.
Involucral bracts 4, broader than the leaves, ovate to broad-ovate. Flowers up to 15 in a head. Calyx 4-lobed, margins ciliate. Corolla white, 4-lobed, tube 1.7–2 mm long. Mericarps 4, c. 2 mm long, glabrous, adaxial face smooth, flat.
Flowering: spring–autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Weed of disturbed sites, chiefly from the Cessnock-Newcastle district. Native of S Amer.
