Description: Almost glabrous perennial to c. 40 cm high; branches glabrous, striate.
Leaves semiterete, usually succulent, to c. 15 mm long.
Fruiting perianth 4–5 mm long, ± cylindrical, attached ± laterally; spines 3, spreading or recurved, 5–8 mm long; limb erect, c. 15 mm long.
Distribution and occurrence: Not common.
