Description: Shrub 1–2 m high, rusty-tomentose.

Leaves lanceolate to ovate or elliptic, usually 3–12 cm long, 8–40 mm wide, margins toothed to ± entire, strongly wrinkled and pubescent to scabrous with veins impressed above; petiole 2–8 mm long.

Cymes few-flowered, shorter than leaves. Calyx 4–7 mm long, sparsely to densely pubescent, white or blue to purplish; lobes acute.

Capsule 10–15 mm diam., very hairy; carpels distinct and separating in fruit.

Flowering: spring.

Distribution and occurrence: Rarely collected in NSW north from near Rylstone. Also in Qld and NT.
NSW subdivisions: NWP, NWS, CWS
