Solanum ammophilum A.R.Bean APNI* Description: Erect shrub 0.2–0.4 m high, grey- or silvery-green; densely stellate-hairy; prickles usually on branches, rare elsewhere.
Leaves linear to oblong, 2–7 cm long, 0.3–0.7 cm wide (6–10 times loinger than broad, often folded, margins entire and often slightly undulate; both surfaces greyish or silvery, stellate-pubescent; petiole 0.3–0.8 cm long.
Inflorescences 1- or 2-flowered; peduncle absent; pedicels 5–17 mm long, slightly longer in fruit. Flowers 4-merous. Calyx 5–10 mm long; lobes 2.5–6 mm long. Corolla stellate, 20–30 mm diam., purple.
Berry c. 13 mm diam., yellowish-green.
Flowering: September to May
Distribution and occurrence: Bourke district, Queensland and N.T.. Grows in low open woodland on yellow to red sandy soils.

Similar to S. coactiliferum; differing in having longer leaves and somewhat different hairs.
