Solanum cleistogamum Symon APNI*
Description: Sprawling annual or perennial herb with branches to 0.6 m long, grey-green or occasionally rusty-green; stellate-hairy; prickles usually common on branches, petioles and calyx tube, less common or absent elsewhere.
Leaves ovate to lanceolate, 3–10 cm long, 1–4 cm wide, margins entire or weakly lobed; both surfaces grey-green, stellate-tomentose; petiole mostly 1.2–2.5 cm long.
Inflorescences 1–4-flowered; peduncle 4–40 mm long; rachis 10–40 mm long; pedicels 5–10 mm long. Calyx 4–6 mm long; lobes 2–3 mm long. Corolla rotate, 10–15 mm diam., pale lavender, often remaining closed.
Berry 10–13 mm diam., pale yellow-green or slightly purple; pedicel usually 15–30 mm long.
Flowering: chiefly late summer to autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Often grows in rocky or gravelly areas, north from Broken Hill and west from Brewarrina.
