Sporobolus sessilis B.K.Simon APNI*

Description: Erect perennials to c. 1 m tall.

Ligule a fringed membrane to 0.4 mm long; blade 0.5–3 mm wide, flat or involute.

Inflorescence 14–30 cm long, the primary branches solitary, divergent or spreading, as long or longer than adjaceant internodes, bearing spikelets along their entire length; pedicels 0.2–3 mm long. Spikelets to 2 mm long. Glumes membranous; lower to 0.6 mm long, obtuse, nerveless; upper glume to 1.5 mm long, at least 50% spikelet length, acute, 1-nerved, glabrous. Lemma to 2 mm long, acute, 1-nerved; palea 1.9–2.1 mm long, subequal to the lemma, acute, entire, 2-nerved.
