Cestrum fasciculatum (Schltdl.) Miers APNI* Description: Shrub to 3 m high; branchlets, petioles and inflorescence axes densely purplish-hairy.
Leaves pilose, eventually glabrescent; lamina ovate, 4.5–13 cm long, 2.5–6 cm wide; petiole 0.5–2.5 cm long.
Inflorescences congested terminal panicles of subspicate racemes; flowers numerous, subsessile. Calyx densely pubescent, 8–9 mm long, lobes triangular to narrow-triangular, 1.5–3.5 mm long. Corolla red or orange-red, pubescent on the outside; tube 15–25 mm long, 1–1.5 mm diam. at base, expanded to c. 5 mm at apex. Staminal filaments 10–12 mm long, swollen and sparsely hairy at base; anthers c. 1 mm long.
Berry obovoid to subglobose, to 15 mm diam., red.
Flowering: chiefly winter–spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Uncommon garden escape with records from from Wollongong district and the Dorrigo area. Native of Mexico.

Some plants are only sparingly hairy on the tubular parts of the calyx and corolla and may represent the progeny of cultivated plants of hybrid origin.
