Gonocarpus salsoloides Rchb. ex Spreng. APNI* 
Description: Erect or ascending, much-branched perennial herb to 40 cm high; stems not conspicuously angled; ± glabrous or sparsely pilose with appressed hairs.
Leaves decussate, linear, 6–20 mm long, usually 1–2 mm wide, margins ± entire or with a few small teeth towards apex; ± sessile.
Primary bracts of inflorescences opposite, at least towards the base. Petals 2.5–2.8 mm long, red-brown to yellowish.
Fruit ovoid, 1–1.5 mm long, silver-grey, 8-ribbed, sometimes with 2 or 3 calluses between the ribs.
Distribution and occurrence: in swampy areas on sand, uncommon; coastal districts from Port Macquarie to Royal N.P.
