Hovea asperifolia subsp. asperifolia I.Thomps. APNI*

Leaves: lamina narrow-oblong, linear or narrow-elliptic, 1–10 cm long, 2.5–9 mm wide, flat to strongly arched each side of a shallowly to deeply recessed midrib, margins recurved to strongly revolute; upper surface glabrous or sometimes with sparse to scattered hairs along midrib, veins with short to moderately long, stiff projections, occasionally almost smooth; lower surface hardly to moderately obscured by coiled to crumpled hairs, rarely almost totally obscured by close hairs.

Flowers with bracts 1–5.5 mm long, bracteoles 1.5–5.5 mm long, bract and bracteoles sometimes partially to totally glabrous. Standard limb pale to deep mauve, the base mostly rounded, flare yellow, c. 1 mm wide, slightly bilobed, bordered by a zone of deep mauve.

Distribution and occurrence: In southeastern NSW around Kiandra, and in the ACT in the Brindabella Range and in eastern Victoria from Gembrook east-north-east to the Cobberas Mtns.

Grows in hilly to mountainous country in wet or dry forests.

Other Australian states: Vic.
