Description: Perennial herb with a short stock, spreading by stolons.

Leaves pinnate, 5–15 cm long; leaflets mostly 7–15, oblong to ovate, 8–35 mm long, 5–15 mm wide, margins toothed; lamina densely silvery-hairy; petiole 10–20 mm long; stipules 10–15 mm long.

Flowers solitary, 10–20 mm diam., peduncle 5–15 cm long, usually longer than leaves. Epicalyx and sepals silver-hairy. Petals yellow. Aggregate fruit enclosed in epicalyx and sepals.


Distribution and occurrence: Native of N temp. regions.
