Utricularia beaugleholei subsp. beaugleholei Gassin APNI*

Description: Annual. Stolon tubers absent.

Leaves linear; apex acuminate.

Inflorescences solitary or several arising in succession, erect; peduncle 40–350 mmlong; bracts and bracteoles slightly or not gibbous at base; corolla 12–20mmlong; upper lip tall, reflexed at 90 degrees, with darker vertical nerves; lower lip broadly obovate, with 5–11 conspicuous, evenly spread, yellow central ridges; spur shorter than the lower lip.

Capsule globose, 5–8 mm long.


Flowering: September–March.

Distribution and occurrence: Found in south-eastern South Australia and the Wimmera, Grampians and Riverina regions of Victoria, with a few occurrences in coastal regions west of Melbourne. Also known from a few collections on the South Western Slopes and Plains of New South Wales.

Occurs in sand or clay in seasonally wet swamps and associated grassland.

Widespread across Victoria and not considered threatened. In New South Wales and South Australia, known only from a few sites and may be threatened in those states. Future surveys in both New South Wales and South Australia are required to determine population size and threat status.
