Description: Rhizomatous perennial herb, flowering stems ± erect, to c. 30 cm high.

Leaves linear to filiform, 2–12 cm long, c. 0.5 mm wide, margins minutely toothed, apex acute; expanded bases persistent, brown.

Inflorescence usually 20–30-flowered; scape filiform, mostly 3–9 cm long; pedicels slender, 2–8 mm long; bracts imbricate, ovate, mostly c. 2.5 mm long, sometimes lowermost up to 5–6 mm long, acuminate, brown. Tepals 2–3 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide, cream. Anthers c. 0.5 mm long; filaments c. 1.5–2 mm long.

Capsule subglobose, 2.5–3 mm diam.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows on moist sandstone rock faces in sclerophyll forest or cliff-line shrub communities; from the Blue Mtns north to Rylstone area, and Gosford area.
