Description: Erect, hairy or glabrescent annual to 50 cm high.

Leaves with lamina ovate to broad-ovate, 1.5–6 cm long, unlobed to ± lobed, apex mostly acute, margins crenate-toothed; upper surface with nearly all simple hairs, lower surface with mostly simple, and some stellate hairs; petiole 1–7 cm long.

Flowers usually solitary. Epicalyx 6–10 mm long. Calyx 10–14 mm long, acute, enlarging and often spreading during ripening of fruit. Petals 20–30 mm long, white, pink, red or lilac. Schizocarp 7–14 mm diam.


Distribution and occurrence: Possibly naturalized in Wyong area. Native of Medit.
