Description: Rhizome creeping, hairs copper-coloured.

Fronds crowded, simple and pinnate.

Simple fronds linear, green, 3–7 cm long, inconspicuous and often easily overlooked. Pinnate fronds usually 20–35 cm long, rarely longer; stipe pale to dark red-brown, 3–6 cm long; sterile pinnae to 2 mm long, very thick, ovate, margins strongly revolute and bearing short papillae, glabrous outside, the inner surface often covered in a yellow waxy substance secreted by glandular hairs; fertile pinnae slightly larger, less strongly revolute. Clumped fern, sometimes forming colonies, in sandy soils; rare in N.S.W., recorded only in the Yetman district.
